Was McDonald’s Worker Who Served Up Raw Burger Targeting Cop Or Just Incompetent?
A police officer in New Hampshire visited the drive-thru window at his local McDonald’s while working the night shift. He ordered a Quarter Pounder with cheese, and a photo he took shows a gross uncooked or undercooked bottom patty. He says that he became ill a few hours later. Those are the facts that no one is really disputing. The question is: did the worker preparing his burger deliberately give him gross food because he’s a cop?
He was in uniform, after all, and was the restaurant’s only customer at the time. “A lot of people don’t like police officers, all the circumstances are there,” he told Boston’s WBZ. “Only one there, in full uniform, and it was obviously cooked after I arrived.”
The officer says that surveillance video shows the person who cooked his burger, a manager in training, fumbling with the equipment and the burger not going through the whole cooking process. McDonald’s, for their part, is taking the situation very seriously. “We take matters regarding food safety and quality very seriously,” they said in a statement to the TV station. “We have investigated the issue and have resolved the customer’s concern at the restaurant level.”
