Spirit Flight Attendant Probably Shouldn’t Have Posed For Photos In Jet’s Engine Well

Spirit Flight Attendant Probably Shouldn’t Have Posed For Photos In Jet’s Engine Well

When going through the boarding process for an upcoming flight, one might expect to see the crew members readying the cabin, welcoming travelers or just generally inside the aircraft. That’s why it was a bit unsettling for several passengers to see a flight attendant posing for photos inside the plane’s engine well before a recent Spirit Airlines flight. [More]

We’ve all had the blues, but when you need cheering up it shouldn’t involve showing unsuspecting store workers pictures of your junk. That’s what police in Grand Rapids say one man admitted to doing, because he says it cheers him up when he’s not feeling so great. [More]

Recently when we’ve talked about stolen photos it’s been related to a massive data hack. But for a San Francisco woman, the invasion of privacy came at a much smaller, more personal level when several of her intimate photos were allegedly stolen by a local RadioShack employee, who now faces felony charges and a civil lawsuit. Credit Card Fraud Suspect Doesn’t Have ID, Poses For Picture With Card Instead

A suspected credit-card thief was caught thanks to the quick thinking of a cashier at a beauty-supply store in Florida. He didn’t quite feel comfortable with the purchase, and the customer didn’t have any photo identification on her that matched the name on the card. Instead of turning the customer away, he asked her to pose for a photo while holding up the card. She did. [More]

Sick Of Fighting Photo Thieves, Getty Makes Images Available For Free Embed

Every day, at just about every event that could be of interest to the national and international media, there is at least one Getty photographer, snapping away, all the while knowing that countless websites, Facebook posts, Tweets, and Tumblr posts will probably soon be sharing some of these pics without paying or providing any credit. Yet Another Accused Thief Makes Rookie Mistake Of Uploading Pics From Stolen iPad To The Cloud

The funny thing about those who steal technological toys like iPads and iPhones from others is often that they don’t really know the capabilities of the electronics they’ve swiped. Even if they do, incriminating photos have a way of showing up and biting them in the rear. A woman accused of stealing an iPad ended up providing her own mug shot when photos her kids reportedly took were uploaded to the owner’s cloud. [More]

No One At Snapfish Knows How To Upload A Photo That Won’t Be Cropped

Gil was under the impression that a company that lets you print photo books would actually let him add in his own collages without cropping the heck out of them. Not so fast, Gil! He wrote in to let us know that his issues with the Snapfish book-making interface were bad, but his problems with the company’s customer service were even worse. He worked on a book of his pictures from his sister’s wedding, laying out the pages in collages and taking a lot of care to do so. The Snapfish software cropped his photos very severely, and no one in customer service could help him. His book got delayed long past his holiday deadline. [More]

How Does Shutterfly Still Exist?

More than one thousand online photo-printing services have entered the marketplace in the history of the Web. Only a few remain. The most successful survivor is Shutterfly, founded in 1999. The 16 billion pictures currently sitting on Shutterfly’s servers aren’t your garden-variety snapshots of sandwiches and shoes. The pictures on Shutterfly are treasured images, and destined to decorate photobooks, prints, calendars, wall decals, mugs, greeting cards, and other items. [More]

This Beer Promotion Isn't A Good Deal, But At Least It's Honest

Regular photo contributor Ashi sent us this photo, seen in San Diego. It’s a thing of beauty: truth in advertising and the least fuzzy math we’ve ever seen. Or is it the most fuzzy math, because it’s calling your attention to something that isn’t a special price at all? [More]
