Most people don’t like pulling up to their houses and seeing fast food refuse sitting in the grass. But what about when that tossed-off trash is actually a mammoth bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken?

“When I was driving by, I saw this giant Kentucky Fried Chicken bucket in my yard, and I thought for sure that I was hallucinating,” a Waynesboro, GA, woman tells WAGT-TV, “so I called my teenagers who were at home and had them go outside.”

Her kids confirmed that this was no grease-induced fantasy. There was a mammoth vintage KFC bucket sign just sitting in their yard.

“Maybe we’ll get giant mashed potatoes next to it,” says the mom, who is much cooler with this than most people I know would be.

Turns out the owner of the bucket is the family’s landlord, who collects old signs.

“And that bucket right there, if you notice it, it don’t say KFC,” explains the landlord. “It says Kentucky Fried Chicken. That bucket’s probably 40 years old.”

Actually, the “KFC” name became official in the early ’90s, so the sign could be as young as 22, but we get his point.

The landlord says he intends on sticking the bucket up on a pole for people to see, though we have a hunch that’s just going to disappoint a lot of hungry drivers in the area.

Meanwhile, the tenants on the property say they’re fine with the big bucket o’ chicken, as it makes it easy for friends to find their house.
