Want Chick Fil-A Taste Without The Controversy? There’s A Recipe For That
Lots of people love the taste of Chick fil-A chicken sandwiches. Not all of them are thrilled with some recent comments made by the company’s president. For those who want the Chick fil-A taste without having to deal with the controversy — or maybe you just don’t live near a Chick fil-A — someone has apparently cracked the code on the recipe.
Hilah at HilahCooking.com actually came up with her recipe a while back, before this latest round of headlines. But it’s gaining attention again as some consumers want to forgo going to Chick fil-A without forgoing eating yummy chicken sandwiches.
What you’ll need:
1 boneless, skinless chicken breast
1/4 cup pickle juice (Hilah recommends sour dill)
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup flour
1 tablespoon powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon celery salt
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
Optional: up to 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper for a spicy sandwich
Oil for frying (about a cup)
The full brining and cooking instructions are in the video below and at Hilahcooking.com.
We haven’t had the chance to fry up one of these sandwiches, mostly because it’s been prohibitively hot here. But we’d love to hear from people who have tried this recipe out to see how it compares to the real thing.
