Try to contain your giggles while watching a guy serenade the drive-thru attendant over the microphone as he orders his food at Sonic. The squees are impossible to suppress: Armed with a guitar, a smile and the ability to improvise lyrics in response to the attendant, this guy surely got some extra love put into his order.
John and his fiancÃ©e wanted some fast food for dinner, and went to the drive-thru at their local Sonic. But they didn’t get any food. They didn’t get served at all, because the restaurant suddenly closed for a mysterious meeting that left confused customers to head elsewhere for their dinner.
Drink enough fountain soda and you’ll eventually get handed that cup full of ice with a slight hint of drink filling in the few gaps. And then there are people with sensitive teeth who find it painful to drink beverages with ice in them. These are both reasons that some customers go the “no ice” route when buying drinks. But some restaurant owners think you should sometimes have to pay extra for that privilege.
Up until the other day, there was only one Sonic restaurant in the entire state of Connecticut. And now that a second one has opened, the locals are showing up to see if they like it. But the staff at a nearby McDonald’s decided to turn a problem into an opportunity by standing outside the new Sonic with signs directing hungry diners to the Golden Arches.
