If you’ve yet to sit down at the table for a morning meal, you might want to make sure it doesn’t include a certain kind of Kellogg’s Eggo Waffles. After all, listeria is neither tasty, nor safe to consume. 

Kellogg’s announced Tuesday that it has recalled approximately 10,000 cases of its Eggo Nutri-Grain Whole Wheat Waffles after finding they could be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

According to a notice posted with the Food and Drug Administration, the recall was initiated after routine tests identified potential contamination.

“As soon as the company learned of a potential concern, it moved quickly to identify any foods that might be impacted and resolve the issue,” the company says.

So far, Kellogg’s is not aware of any reports of illnesses related to the possible contamination.

The affected products come with 10 waffles per packages, have the UPC code 38000 40370, and the “Best If Used By Date” of NOV 21 17 or NOV 22 17.

The products were sold and distributed to retailers in 25 states, including Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Vermont, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

Customers who purchased the waffles are urged to discard them and call Kellogg’s for a refund.
