Have you ever tried eating nachos on the go? It can be a messy, cheesy endeavor. In an attempt to make chowing down on that meal a bit less chaotic, Taco Bell announced last week that it would test “Walking Nachos,” a portable bag of chips, cheese, and meat. Now, we’re getting our first look at the menu items.
The latest creation from Taco Bell’s test kitchen is expected to hit stores in Charlotte, NC, at some point this month, Eater reports.
Unlike Taco Bell’s other nacho meals which feature a melted, creamy cheese sauces, the fast food chain opted for a less drippy, messy shredded cheese topping for the Walking version.
Otherwise, the Walking Nachos are essentially fully loaded nachos shoved inside a small bag; complete with mini Doritos chips covered in seasoned beef, shredded cheese, guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo.
FoodBeast reports that the creation — which is similar to a Frito Pie or a Walking Taco — came to Taco Bell as a suggestion from employees who had noticed customers dumping taco and burrito toppings onto plain tortilla chips they’d just ordered.
The menu item will be available this month for $2.99 a bag in Charlotte.
