Google Glass Taking Applications To Become America’s Next Top Cyborg
If you’ve ever sat gazing out a window using just your own boring nature-given eyeballs and thought, “Oh, if only I were more like Geordi LaForge, and also I have lots of money to spare,” then Google Glass wants you. The company is taking the next step toward making its wearable computing devices a reality and is offering up the chance for tech-lovers to be among the first to try it.
Although Tyra Banks might not be involved, the road to America’s Next Top Cyborg won’t be easy, oh no. It seems simple, as Google first asks, “What would you do if you had Glass?” and invites Geordi wannabes to reply on Twitter or Google+ with #ifihadglass.
You better be a “bold, creative” individual, says Google, and if you do get picked, well there’s a lot you should know.
If your application is chosen, you’ll need to prepare your wallet:
The deadline for applications is February 27th. If you are chosen, we will reach out to you with an invitation to become a Glass Explorer (please remember to follow us so that we can contact you directly). Explorers will each need to pre-order a Glass Explorer Edition for $1500 plus tax and attend a special pick-up experience, in person, in New York, San Francisco or Los Angeles.
But come on, it’s totally worth it, right? You’ll be a cyborg.
