Wendy's Hot 'N Juicy Not So Juicy: Consumer Reports
Our sensory-specialist siblings over at Consumer Reports have tasted the Dave’s Hot ‘N Juicy burger from Wendy’s, and have declared that the burger, while thicker than previous Wendy’s offerings, isn’t all that juicy.
Consumer Reports’ tasters found the beef at Wendy’s outlets in suburban New York and New England:
Our trained tasters found that the burger was pan-seared, fairly beefy, tender, and thicker than before, and it filled up most of the buttery-tasting, toasted bun. But the beef wasn’t especially juicy, and it sometimes had a fatty flavor. …
The toppings–a tomato slice, red onion, iceberg lettuce, sweet and sour pickle, ketchup, mayo, and two slices of American cheese–weren’t always “premium,” as advertised. In some locations, the lettuce was wilted or the tomato wasn’t ripe.
The tasters did find that “the parts blended well,” but also added that “with all that stuff aboard, the burger can be messy.”
