Burger King Selling Cheesy, Gravy-licious Poutine To Canadians, Doesn't Bother To Ask If We Want Any
Forget free health care and cool winter hats, the real reason to move to Canada is poutine, better known as french fries smothered in melted cheese and scrumptious gravy. So now that we’ve heard that Burger King was starting to offer this dish to north-of-the-border customers, we want to know: What about us?
In addition to the standard poutine, Burger King has two other varieties: one with bacon and another with jalapenos, crispy onions and “angry sauce.”
“We see an opportunity to become THE destination for Canada’s favourite dish by reaching the growing demographic of poutine lovers,” said the senior marketing manager for Burger King Restaurants of Canada, Inc.
That’s all well and good, but how about becoming THE destination for Americans to chow down on Canada’s favorite dish?
Come to think of it, we’re glad Burger King isn’t selling this here, because we prefer Wendy’s fries anyway…
