Meet The Tailgater, Dish Network's Portable Receiver
It will now take more than an hulking grill and cooler stocked with booze to turn heads at tailgate parties. A massive HDTV pumping out pregame chatter via Dish Network’s Tailgater portable satellite receiver may be so enticing that it delays passers-by from setting foot inside the stadium.
Engadget reports the device, which works for Dish customers who own the ViP 211k HD receiver, costs $350. It weighs 10 pounds and, according to a press release, allows for setup in “minutes.”
The fine print translates to “expect to pay a lot for the privilege of watching football in the bed of your truck:”
For added flexibility, DISH Network offers customers a convenient solution that allows them to pay month-to-month for programming, ensuring they only pay for the service when in use. Current DISH Network customers can use their existing account to service the Tailgater system. An additional outlet fee may apply.
