Perhaps you’re one of those people who doesn’t believe in standing up for what’s right, and if so, you’re probably not going to get free food. Not like two Wendy’s customers who say that after they defended a Wendy’s worker from a big, bad bully, she rewarded them with a free Frosty each and chicken nuggets.

One of the do-gooders posted the evidence of the reward on Reddit, and Yahoo! Shine subsequently caught up with the two New Jersey teens to learn what went down.

“Stood up for an innocent employee at Wendy’s who was being bullied by a customer. She gave us free frosties and chicken nuggets,” wrote one of the two youngsters with a photo of the Frosties and a handwritten thank you note.

Apparently the twosome heard another customer yelling at the cashier while they were waiting in line. There had been a power outage a bit earlier and the kitchen was backed up. One of the teens says the customer yelled, “If you weren’t ready to take my order, you shouldn’t have called me up!”

“We were very shocked that an older woman would even be so immature,” the young woman explained. She works in retail and also at a diner so she says she empathized with the cashier and spoke up. Then she and her girlfriend got a surprise.

“When we got our food, the cashier smiled and said, ‘Here’s your chicken nuggets.’ She gave us a free 16-piece chicken nuggets even though we didn’t order any. And when we were done, she came out with a tray of two Frosties just as a nice gesture … like, ‘Thank you for standing up for me.'”

“I thought it was really sweet of the cashier,” her girlfriend told Yahoo! Shine. “It was nice to know that she was happy that we stood up for her. Karma gave us something back.”

The other customer wasn’t too pleased that she’d been told to be nice or that someone else got free food, and tattled to the manager. It seems the manager was onboard with it as well, however, so nice try, Meanie McRuderson. Such behavior won’t be rewarded with delicious ice cream.
