Wendy’s Eatery Stops Serving 9-Patty ‘T-Rex Burger’ After World Finds Out About It
The Canadian Press reports that the burger began as a joke in a Sports Illustrated ad, but that customers began requesting it and the store began selling a few of them a day, at the whopping (not Whopper) price of $21.99 CAD ($21.63 USD, for those who care), or even as a combo for $24.99 CAD ($24.58 USD).
But then an image of the restaurants sign for the burger ended up on Reddit earlier this week, and rather use this buzz as good advertising for the chain, Wendy’s pulled the plug on this 3000-calorie behemoth.
“For obvious reasons, Wendy’s of Brandon neither condones nor promotes the idea of anyone consuming a nine-patty hamburger in one sitting,” said an employee at the Wendy’s in question.
