Southern California To Finally Get Dunkin’ Donuts… In 2015
Earlier today, DD announced it would be expanding to SoCal and that the company is now looking for franchisees who want to open Dunkin’ outlets in Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego, San Bernadino, Ventura and Orange Counties.
Alas, it’s not quite time to make the donuts, with DD saying it doesn’t plan on actually opening these franchises until 2015. Though there is a recently opened Dunkin’ at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, CA.
“Expansion to the West Coast has always been part of our growth plans, and we’ve always said that we will enter California when the timing is right and when the infrastructure is in place to help our franchisees be successful,” reads a statement from Dunkin’ CEO Nigel Travis. “We believe we have reached that point today.”
It is worth noting that DD did actually open about a dozen franchises in California during the late ’90s, but shuttered them shortly after “because the time wasn’t right.”
