The McRib Is Back, Temporarily
The McRib is a flirtatious little pile of pork. On the menu, then off again, then up to individual franchises to decide whether to offer it, the boneless pork patty on a sesame bun is going to be back at McDonald’s again starting today through November 14th.
After that, who knows what might happen. Ooh! Aah! Oink!
“Bringing it back every so often adds to the excitement,” Marta Fearon, McDonald’s U.S. marketing director, told the AP. She wouldn’t say if the McRib will make an annual return once again in 2012, like a Perseid meteor shower of pork, saying, “It’s too early to speculate.”
Last year, the McRib was brought back temporarily, also in November. At that time, McDonald’s USA President Jan Fields told WSJ the pop-up pork shop was because, “it doesn’t sell well all year long because people get tired of it.”
