Five Guys Is First Fast Food Chain To Get Coca-Cola Freestyle Machines
It’s been more than two years since we first wrote about Coca-Cola’s Freestyle soda machines that give customers more than 100 drink options to choose from, but the magical devices have been slow to roll out. But that may be about to change, as the rapidly growing Five Guys burger chain has announced it will be installing the machines in the coming months.
Five Guys has been testing the Freestyle machines in Atlanta (aka Coca-Colaville, USA) since last year and recently expanded that test to a handful of markets. But starting next month, it will begin rolling out the Freestyles to Five Guys across the country.
The chain says that test restaurants saw an increase in sales (especially in beverages) and traffic.
“The interactivity, innovation, choice and quality that Coca-Cola Freestyle delivers to our customers is the perfect pairing with our burgers and fries,” said Sam Chamberlain, Chief Operating Officer, Five Guys. “We’re excited to be the biggest franchise system to roll out the fountains in our stores.”
UPDATE: Five Guys HQ tells Consumerist that the Freestyle machines will definitely be going into all 156 company-owned restaurants but that franchisees are being given the option of installing the machines. So if want one but you don’t see one at your local Five Guys, you can voice your opinion to the owner and hope they listen.
