Planes Collide In Alaska For Second Time In A Month, Killing Four
Alaska’s skies seem to be dangerous for private aircraft these days, with the second mid-air collision in a month killing four Saturday. The accidents came less than a year after Alaska senator Ted Stevens perished in a plane crash in the state.
The AP reports that Saturday’s collision left a Cessna 180 torched on the ground, with four on board dead. The other plane involved in the accident, a Cessna single-engine carrying only its pilot, suffered some damage but made it to the airport in Anchorage. The pilot was unharmed.
In the air crash that took place earlier in July, no one was injured.
