Lawsuit: JetBlue Kicked Woman Off Flight After Accusing Her Of Going Pantsless
A New York City woman has filed a lawsuit against JetBlue, alleging that airline employees not only made a spectacle of her by removing her from a flight to see what she was wearing under her baggy shirt but added insult to injury by refusing to let her back on the plane.
The woman, who was wearing a baggy T-shirt over a pair of shorts, tells the NY Daily News she was boarding a flight from LaGuardia Airport in NYC to West Palm Beach, FL, when a JetBlue supervisor stopped her to inquire about her outfit.
“He said, ‘I don’t want to see your panties or anything but do you have any on?'” she tells the News. “I didn’t want to show him anything. He wanted me to basically show him my crotch. I was completely humiliated. It was vulgar. It was macho. It was rude.”
According to the plaintiff, she was escorted off the plane. She says she lifted her shirt up to show her shorts. But when she attempted to re-board the plane, she claims the supervisor who had originally stopped her told her the pilot would not fly with her on board.
“He said, ‘The captain is refusing to fly you today. We need to remove you from the flight,'” she tells the Daily News. “We need to remove you from the flight.”
The plaintiff was ultimately put on a later JetBlue flight. She is suing for unspecified damages.
“I really feel like the guy just wanted to demean me in some way,” she said. “Maybe he thought I was cute. Even so, it was totally inappropriate.”
