Earlier this week, a group of U.S. soldiers returning from Afghanistan made headlines when they posted a YouTube video to voice their displeasure with Delta Airlines over the carrier’s checked baggage policy for active duty members of the armed forces.

The soldiers had understood that they were allowed four pieces of luggage at no charge, while Delta said their policy only allowed three free bags. Regardless, the airline has since changed its policy to allow for an additional piece of luggage.

From the Delta Blog:

After careful consideration, effective immediately, U.S. military personnel traveling on orders in First Class and BusinessElite can check up to five bags at no charge and 4 bags in economy class.

As for whether or not those soldiers will be reimbursed, the airline isn’t saying.

“We do not disclose individual passenger information as it relates to a specific issue but I can tell you that we are going to be working very closely with them to ensure we make them whole in this,” a rep for Delta tells the Atlanta Journal Constitution. “At the end of the day we’re going to make things right with them.”

Meanwhile, the original YouTube video that caused the hubbub has since been taken down.
