Report: Hackers Retaliate Against Sony For Going After One Of Their Own
In an episode reportedly linked to Sony’s attempts to take down the alleged hacker who decimated the PS3’s security, a group of hackers reportedly crippled the PlayStation Network and several Sony-related cites.
Destructoid reports a hacker co-op is taking credit for the outages. Sony isn’t acknowledging that it’s been victimized by hackers, calling PSN outages “sporadic maintenance” and issuing this short message on the PlayStation Blog:
We’re aware that some of you have been experiencing intermittent service on PSN today. We’re working on finding a solution, and will report back here as soon as it’s resolved.
Thank you for your patience.
If you play games on the PS3 or PSP, what problems have the outages caused you?
