Sony Not Sure If Credit Card Info Was Compromised During PSN Outage
Sony continues to deal with the fallout of its huge PlayStation Network outage, which has not only left 75 million users without access, but which also may have compromised users’ credit card information.
According to PC World, a Sony rep tells the site that the company has not yet determined if credit card numbers or other sensitive personal info has been accessed. The rep said Sony would promptly inform users if it discovers this info has been hacked.
So if PSN has your credit card info, it couldn’t hurt to take a couple seconds to check your credit card accounts to make sure there hasn’t been any suspicious activity.
