Man With Shotgun Demands Food From Closed McDonald's, Blames Hungry & Pregnant Wife

A 27-year-old man in Missouri has been arrested on charges of unlawful use of a weapon and driving while intoxicated after he allegedly used a shotgun to threaten employees at McDonald’s, demanding the restaurant reopen and give him some food to take home to his pregnant wife.

According to reports, the man rolled up to the drive-thru window of the McDonald’s in Benton, MO, shortly after closing time on Saturday. When he was told that the restaurant had shut down for the evening, that’s when he allegedly pulled out the gun.

Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter tells SEMissourian.com:

He told the employee he wanted food and pointed the shotgun at that time… He said, ‘If I don’t bring some food home for my wife, she’s going to kill me.’ At that point, the employees didn’t want to stick around to listen to any more demands.

The employees stepped out of the man’s line of fire and contacted the police. A deputy responded immediately and held the suspect at gunpoint until backup arrived.

“The shotgun was loaded and there was a round chambered,” said the sheriff.
