Chick-Fil-A Will Accept Your Free Sandwich Reservation Now
Perhaps hoping to avoid the chaos, madness and chicken shortages of other recent food giveaways, Chick-Fil-A is trying a novel approach for its current free spicy chicken sandwich promotion. You reserve a specific time slot at a specific restaurant, print out a coupon tied to your reservation time and e-mail address, show up at the appointed time, and…. nom nom nom nom nom.
If you can’t get a reservation or don’t live near a Chick-Fil-A, you can live vicariously through reader B.J.’s account of the experience:
I stopped by Chick-fil-a in Chapel Hill today with my oh so special invitation to try a new spicy chicken sandwich and felt the experience was worth sharing. After being ushered to a special “Spicy VIP” only register, I handed over my invite, ordered a “deluxe” (pepperjack cheese, lettuce and tomato) spicy chicken sandwich and paid for the fries and a drink.
An employee out on the floor invited me to sit in the “Spicy VIP” seating area with white tablecloths and roses, picked up my food and requested sauces, as well as napkins and a straw for me, and delivered them to my table. After shrugging off odd stares from those seated in the less spicy seating area, opened my sandwich box (no foil bags this time) and dug into the nicest looking sandwich I have ever seen (and probably will ever see) at a fast food restaurant.I almost always complain that the food never looks like the picture on the menu, but the promo sandwich obviously got some special attention (other attached pic). The sandwich had a good flavor, although with only a hint of spiciness (more would have been nice), and I would probably buy it again. The special service though, from the VIP line and table, the server, and the roses, was pretty amusing though, and kind of nice in a weird way. I don’t remember KFC rolling out the red carpet for me on the first (and my last) day of the double-down.
The promotion runs out this Saturday.
