You Can Now Buy HBO, Cinemax Through Amazon Prime
In Amazon’s continuing effort to be everything and anything for its customers, the e-commerce giant announced today that it will be offering streaming HBO and Cinemax subscriptions to its Prime members.
Starting today, Prime members can sign up to get HBO and Cinemax series on Amazon Channels. The HBO package is $14.99 per month for unlimited streaming access to its TV shows and full movie library, which is the same price as an HBO now subscription. Cinemax is a bit cheaper at just just $9.99/month, and also includes its original series and movie collection.
Prime members can try out HBO for a month for free, Amazon points out. And though that same trial membership isn’t explicitly mentioned for Cinemax (which, like HBO, is owned by Time Warner), Amazon offer free trials with all Amazon Channels subscriptions.
It’s worth noting that since last December, Prime members have been able to subscribe to Starz, Showtime, and Comedy Central Stand-Up through Amazon Channels.
