Taco Bell Will Hand Out Free Tacos If Someone Steals A Base During World Series Image courtesy of zombieite
Whether you’re jumping for joy or tearing your hair out when a player steals a base during the upcoming World Series, rest assured that if it happens, everyone’s gonna get a free taco.
As Taco Bell has done in the past, the fast food chain is offering its “Steal a Base, Steal a Taco” promotion again, marking the fifth year of gratis food tied to major sporting events.
As soon as someone steals a base in the World Series, which starts Oct. 25, the promotion will kick in: participating Taco Bell locations around the country will give away Doritos Locos Tacos on Wednesday, Nov. 2 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., local time.
But if no one steals a base until Game 3 or later, the taco event will take place Nov. 10. Last year, the nation earned free A.M. Crunchwraps when Lorenzo Cain of the Kansas City Royals stole second base in Game One of the World Series. Taco Bell ran a similar promotion during this year’s NBA championship finals.
“The World Series is the biggest stage in baseball and a perfect setting for Taco Bell’s ‘Steal a Base, Steal a Taco’ promotion,” said Noah Garden, MLB Executive Vice President, Business. “Baseball fans will be rooting for their favorite team but free tacos are something we can all agree to rally behind.”
