Police in Miami say an Uber driver has admitted to sexually battering a female customer while she was incapacitated after a night of drinking.
According to the arrest affidavit cited by WSVN, the driver picked up the female victim and another person on Saturday night. At some point, he committed sexual battery on the woman.
“The victim disclosed that she was intoxicated, and she and the witness took an Uber to her residence,” the affidavit reads. “The victim awoke the following morning and found her panties and pants had been removed.”
The driver was arrested on Tuesday, and police said he “further admitted the victim had been drinking and stated he was wrong for what he did.”
Uber confirmed that it was aware of the incident, saying the company has banned the driver from using the platform.
“These actions are in clear violation of the community guidelines,” the company said in a statement.
