Mars Petcare Recalls Cesar Dog Food For Small Plastic Pieces
The mascot of Cesar brand dog food is a small, white, fluffy dog, but you are not supposed to find small, white, emphatically non-fluffy pieces of plastic in your dog’s wet food. Mars Petcare, the company behind the Cesar brand, has recalled dog food containers in the Cesar Classics filet mignon flavor, and multipacks that include that flavor.
Customers have reported finding plastic pieces in the food and the products have ostensibly been recalled because they pose a choking hazard, but there have been no reported injuries. Well, reported injuries in customers’ dogs.
Affected food packs will have date codes of 080418 (Aug. 4, 2018) and 080518 (Aug, 5, 2018). The products’ lot codes for the affected foods are 631FKKC and 631GKKC, and they were included in multipacks. In the company’s branding scheme, filet mignon products are purple.
Customers are asked to bring the food back to the retailer where they purchased it, or throw it away. If you have any questions about products in your pantry, call the company at 800-421-6456.
