Price Chopper Recalls Ice Cream Because Metal Shavings Aren’t A Good Topping
Hot fudge, peanuts, whipped cream, sprinkles, and cherries — these are all popular and edible toppings to include in your nightly bowl of ice cream. You know what’s not? Metal shavings, and for that reason Price Chopper and Market 32 has issued a recall of hundreds of tubs of the cool treat.
The stores voluntarily recalled 48-ounce tubs of Central Market Classics Caramel Caribou Ice Cream from several stores on the East Coast Tuesday over the possible presence of metal shavings, WPTZ reports.
The ice cream was sold at more than 150 Price Chopper and Market 32 stores in New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.
Price Chopper says that most of the customers who purchased the ice cream, which can be identified by the UPC code 41735 07230, have been notified of the recall through the company’s SoundBite notification program.
Those who have the tubs sitting in their fridge are urged to return the ice cream to their local Price Chopper for a full refund.
