The ideal candidate would be a college graduate or someone with equivalent work experience, preferably in an online newsroom for a major
publication producing original reporting. It will really help if you’re already familiar with consumer/business news and have a special interest in how public policy, regulation, and legislation impact consumers.
The person we hire will be expected to do quite a bit of writing and reporting under tight deadlines, and be able to do so without someone standing over their shoulders.
Anyone wishing to apply for the job will have to do so through the Consumer Reports career opportunities portal, but if you feel that you have material that can bolster your application, feel free to send it to dc@consumerist.com.
