Burger King Employee One-Ups Stick-Up Artists By Taking Their Getaway Car
KOVR-TV in Sacramento reports that two wannabe bad dudes recently walked into a Stockton, CA, Burger King, drew their guns and demanded cash.
One employee was able to slip out the back of the eatery and into the parking lot, where the robbers’ car was idling. Seeing an opportunity to throw a hitch in the suspects’ plans, he got into the car drove it out of the lot and stashed it around the corner.
The robbers apparently panicked when they realized what had happened and fled on foot to a nearby field, where they were eventually apprehended by police.
“I haven’t heard of any employee actually leaving a business, getting inside the suspect vehicle and trying to hide it,” a Stockton police officer tells KOVR, adding that while the employee’s actions did help to get the bad guys, he believes the safest route is to simply comply with armed robbers.
Let’s just hope there isn’t a follow-up story about this employee being fired for his actions.
