Have You Seen A Vending Machine That Imposes Credit Card Surcharges?
Reader G. spotted this sign at an upstate New York gym, and says that he’s seen others in airports. You’ll notice, though, that this is a good old-fashioned “cash discount” sign, and not a credit card surcharge. That’s because it was in New York, one of the states where such charges are actually illegal.
So we’re calling on you, the Consumerist Nation, to snap pictures of vending machine credit card surcharge signs when you see them. Where are they? How are they worded? What city and state did you find them in? We want to know.
Send them to us at tips@consumerist.com, or snap their picture using our world-semi-famous tipster app for iOS and for Android.
