Signs You'll Hate That Job You're Trying To Get
The thrill of the hunt for a new job can obscure the reasons you want to work at the new place. Your every thought may be focused on making yourself appear to be a shoo-in for the position, but you’d do well to spend some time evaluating whether or not the company is right for you.
The Skool of Life offers up some warning signs that you’re stepping into yet another miserable career stop:
* You need to force yourself to act interested in company minutiae. If you don’t naturally care about the details of the job or the company, and have to act interested during an interview, you’re probably forcing it.
* You’re chasing money. It’s easier to say than obey, but money won’t necessarily bring you fulfillment. If you like what you do and have enough money to get by but find yourself chasing a job out of your comfort zone simply because it pays better, you could be paving the path to misery.
* You tell the interviewer what you think they want to hear. If you can’t answer questions naturally and are just playing a game with the goal of contorting your answers into superficial nonsense, expect to spend your time in meetings doing the same thing.
