Creepy Or Cool? John Lennon's Tooth To Be Auctioned Off
It’s pretty lucky for whatever memorabilia hungry fan out there who doesn’t quite have everything Beatles just yet, that John Lennon handed over his tooth at one point. Because now that dental piece of history is going up for sale at auction.
While Lennon didn’t have it knocked out in some fracas with fans, the tooth comes with a bit of history, reports CNN. Lennon’s molar was removed by a dentist and he then gifted it to his housekeeper, Dorothy in the 1960s, because he knew her daughter was a fan.
Said her son:
“She was very close with John, and one day whilst chatting in the kitchen, John gave my mother the tooth (he had been to the dentist to have it removed that day) and suggested giving it to my sister as a souvenir, as she was a huge Beatles fan,” he said. “It has been in the family ever since.”
The tooth will go up for sale with a reserve price of $16,000 at Omega Auction house. So scrape together all those pennies if you want to own an actual piece of John Lennon.
