JetBlue Now Offering Access To Speedier Security Lines For A Fee
Access to expedited security lines has generally been something that the largest airlines offer to their first class and business class passengers. But JetBlue, which has no first or business class seats, has just begun offering a service — for a fee, of course — that gives travelers access to the TSA fast lane at 14 airports.
The airline calls its program “Even More Speed,” and it will get you into the (theoretically) faster lines at Austin, Baltimore, Buffalo, Charlotte, Chicago, Ft. Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York/JFK, Newark, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington/Dulles. The airline says that Boston will be added this month and other airports are to come.
Right now, the only way to purchase the Even More Speed option is if you bundle it with the airline’s existing Even More Space option that offers passengers seats with more legroom and priority boarding.
The bundle of the two options will run you anywhere from $10 per leg of a short trip up to $65 per leg for those longer flights.
The airline says it will offer the Even More Speed option as its own item later this year.
By way of a caveat, JetBlue has this to say about the program:
While there are no guarantees of actual time savings, Even More Speed has been designed to provide an assurance of the quickest possible security screening experience. In applicable markets, Even More Speed customers will be able to use expedited queuing space – not necessarily dedicated screening lanes.
How much would you be willing to pay to get into the shorter security line?
