Purchases To Make Or Avoid In June
As spring winds down and summer nears, some products and services become better buys, while some grow more costly. DealNews recommends what to buy this month, and what purchases to postpone.
Here are some of the site’s “buy now” recommendations:
*Discounted movie tickets. Some theater chains are offering cheap weekday movie deals for kids.
*Travel. Hurricane season makes Caribbean cruises cheaper, and museums tend to offer discounts and free days this month.
And as for what to avoid this month:
*TVs. Conventional wisdom says TVs are cheaper in June because the Japanese fiscal year is ending, but November, December and pre-Super Bowl February sales usually beat anything offered in the summer.
*Sunglasses. DealNews says most of the best sunglasses sales come along in May. Likely due to increased demand, there are fewer discounts available in June.
