Brooklyn Delivery Guy Calls Out Bad Tippers On His Blog
Crappy tippers, beware. The delivery guy or gal who you grossly undertip this weekend might have a Tumblr account. Tired of meager tips from customers who clearly have some cash, one delivery guy in Brooklyn–Williamsburg, to be exact–is striking back by calling out lousy tippers on his blog, and gathering tips from readers. Unlike us, he leaves names, addresses, and locations unredacted. Check it out soon, because it probably won’t stay up for long in its current form.
The blog features not just the names, addresses, and apartment numbers of offending individuals, but calls out offices and even TV show staffs that place large orders and blame their meager tips on “corporate.”
What’s the blog all about? It justifies its existence on the “About” page:
15 Percent is a blog documenting people, and companies who have never seemed to work in the service industry, or don’t think to tip at least 15% on deliveries, and instead opt for 2 dollars on everything.
This is for all the people who have been handed $80 on a $78 order and told “keep the change”. Thanks ass-hole.
The posts are a vaguely poetic and concise commentary on the modern service culture. For example:
[redacted], apt [redacted] tipped me a whopping $0.50 to ride though a thunderstorm for him. Sometimes this gig makes me so misanthropic.
Do you support this grub-hauling vigilante? Do bad tippers deserve this kind of treatment? It’s one thing to hang bad checks behind the counter, but taking it to the Internet and including easily Googlable names is a whole other level of public shaming.
≤15% [Tumblr] (Thanks, GitEmSteveDave!)
