Twitter: Google Isn't Trying To Buy Us For $10 Billion
It was recently reported that Google is in the market to buy Twitter and that the price tag floating around for the company was somewhere in the $8-10 billion range. But today, Twitter’s CEO denied those reports — sort of.
Speaking earlier today at the Mobile World Congress fair in Barcelona, Twitter chief Dick Costolo called the reports that Google was preparing an offer near the 11-digit range “just a rumor… I don’t know where these things come from. It’s just a rumor.”
Does that mean that the whole Google story is just a rumor? Or that the numbers being thrown around are not accurate?
What he didn’t comment on, notes Reuters, are the similar reports about being wooed by Facebook for a similar price.
