Spirit Airlines Launches "Check Out The Oil On Our Beaches" Promo

Spirit Airlines is known for pushing its bottom-scraping fees with crass emailed promos, but usually they just stick with dorky sex puns. Now they’re branching out into sociopolitical commentary with their latest “Check Out The Oil On Our Beaches” promotion that leverages the BP oil spill in comedy and marketing gold.

It features tanning and bikini-clad girls, and two big bottles of green and yellow “Best Protection” sunscreen bottles. In case you don’t get the joke, the B and P are a different color from the other text. Oh, and you can get $50 off using coupon code “50OFF.”

I’m not sure whether to file this one under “deals” or “disgusting.” It’s definitely a step beyond their “M.I.L.F.” sale (Many Islands, Low Fares) or “M.U.F.F. DIVING” sale (Many Unbelievably Fantastic Fares to Diving destinations).

How does this make you feel? a) smash things b) laugh c) cry d) like flying another airline.

(Thanks to Jesse!)
