Decent Video Games Coming To Macs This Spring
It’s been rumored for weeks, but finally confirmed today that Steam, the hugely popular gaming service for PC users, will indeed be available for use on Macs starting in May.
The Steam service allows gamers to not only play online against and with each other, but also to purchase games and additional downloadable content. Among the service’s biggest offerings are games produced by Steam’s parent company Valve like Team Fortress 2, Portal, the Half-Life series and the Left 4 Dead games.
One additional note of interest to bipartisan computer users — current Steam account holders with Windows-based computers will be able to re-download their games onto a Mac without having to purchase them a second time.
What remains to be seen is whether the games will perform as well on Macs as they have on PCs.
Let the fan-boy fracas begin…
