You missed the even better deal with those plates from Amazon. In addition to the 12 dinner plates you can get the matching set including the 12 salad plates and 12 bowls for $8.97.

  2. Vilgrom says:

There’s $5.95 shipping on those plates..

  3. battra92 says:

    I miss Krispy Kreme. :(

Oh and that Staples deal looks like a loophole that I can see them not honoring.

  4. Parsnip says:

Nice. I got the plates, matching bowls, and matching salad plates for a total of $14.92, including shipping.

I also showed the Staples paper deal to my boss, and it looks like I’ll be going to Staples on my lunch break.

  5. Moosehawk says:

Geometry Wars is the shit. Although, if you have a half-decent computer you can buy the game on Steam for $4.95 I think.

    • TVarmy says:

@Moosehawk: I think the Wii version has extra levels or something. Still, I thought the original had dual-analog controls? The reviews are good, though, so I assume they worked that out.

The Steam version is the original, at $3.99, actually. And I’m pretty sure it’s still available on Live, too, although I’d go for the Steam version just out of spite for Microsoft’s refusal to take real money.

  6. emona says:

Am I missing something with these plates at Amazon? When I click the link it shows a price of $37.48. The 8-inch sells for 2.99, but the 10-inch is much higher.

    • thatsnotfab says:

@emona: Yeah, I saw the same price too. It’s my understanding that the 2.99 price was a temporary promo and it’s already ended.

  7. dreamsneverend says:

The MS Office deal through is ALWAYS going on.. and well worth it!

  8. loveforsale says:

It appears the Amazon plates deal has been used up. I clicked on the link, found the good deal, then when I went to add to my cart, it told me the seller was sold out. Back to normal prices. :(

  9. Parsnip says:

It looks like dinner plate deal is gone, and the price is back up to 37 dollars.

  10. wastedlife says:

Anytime I’ve been to Krispy Kreme, if the “Donuts Fresh Now” sign is lit, they give you a free glazed donut while you wait in line. I don’t think I’d sign up for anything just for a free donut that you could probably get for free otherwise.

  11. PriceIsWrong says:

Are the plates on sale anymore? they’re popping up at a discounted price, but not $2.99.

  12. theblackdog says:

I hate when Amazon does that, it seems they like to offer something at a low price, then jack the price up in a few hours without warning.

  13. madrigal says:

The plates deal was originally offered on Amazon through It must be sold out now because it has gone back to This is the reason for the higher price.

  14. ravana says:

I’m seeing the same thing. Maybe a price mistake?

Also, what’s with the Office Ultimate deal showing up twice under the Buxr deals?

  15. sixseeds says:

Is anybody else clicking on Geometry Wars only to get priced at $58.44?

    • sixseeds says:

@sixseeds: Ah, I see now, in the corner for “other vendors.” Never mind.

    • TVarmy says:

@sixseeds: I wonder what Amazon’s justification for putting another company’s inventory on the page over theirs by default is? I’d assume they’d go customer friendly and show the cheapest one before shipping, but here they have the $60 retailer who charges shipping listed over their own, at $10 and eligible for free shipping on orders over $25. Maybe it just tries to show the one that gets Amazon the biggest cut first, instead.

    re: laptop
if you want a small netbook, i’d spend an extra hundred abd get a 10″ MSI Wind, 1.6 ghz prox (vs 900mhz), 1 gb ram (vs 512 mb), and 160gb HDD (vs 40/60gb)
    look for it on newegg
(granted, if you don’t NEED the faster processor or more ram, the amazon deal doesn’t look too bad (but isn’t an OMGWTFBLACKFRIDAY deal, either) (but you won’t be disappointed with the extra power))
