Debt Collectors Incessantly Harass Dead Son's Parents
Debt collectors are illegally harassing Vincent’s parents for debt their son owes. Vincent died last year at 27 from a sudden heart attack during a softball game. “I’m afraid to pick up the phone in my own home,” said Roco Crimeni, father. “That’s the hard part, to tell them my son is dead. How many times do I have to repeat it?”
The family’s lawyer sent a letter to explain the situation. Nothing changed. After a reporter started asking questions, one of the debt collectors agreed to stop collections, but that was only just one. “When are they going to stop?” Roco Crimeni asked Fox. “That’s what I’d like to know.” Maybe some time after you take them to small claims court for harassment under the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collections Practices Act)?
