Commerce Bank: Liar, Pants Ablaze
B.L. Ochman is crying foul over a sign up at every New York Commerce bank (pictured). She says it’s deceptive marketing and she’s got the story to prove it:
- “I went to a Commerce branch in Flat Iron and gave the teller a deposit at 4 p.m. She said, “Just so you know, I’m working on tomorrow, so this won’t be credited today.” I protested: “But the sign says “Your money faster. Deposit ’til 6. Next Day Availability.” That’s true, she said, but not at every teller.
Jeez, all they need is a little sign the teller can put up that says, “Deposits made at this window before 6 PM will NOT be credited today. Please see teller at Window X.” Then, Commerce Bank wouldn’t be lying to its customers.
Hey, aren’t there laws about stuff like this?”
