London Ice Cream Shop To Offer Scoops Of Frozen Breast Milk
If you’ve ever wondered what ice cream made from human breast milk might taste like, a London shop will soon have the answer.
Starting Friday, the Icecreamists parlor in the city’s Covent Garden area will be serving up a treat they call the Baby Gaga, which blends breast milk with Madagascan vanilla pods and lemon zest.
“Some people will hear about it and go, ‘yuck’ but actually it’s pure, organic, free-range and totally natural,” said the store’s founder.
The milk was provided by moms who answered a posting on an online forum.
“What could be more natural than fresh, free-range mother’s milk in an ice cream?” asks one mom who sold her milk to the Icecreamists. “And for me it’s a recession beater too — what’s the harm in using my assets for a bit of extra cash… I tried the product for the first time today — it’s very nice, it really melts in the mouth.”
The curious will have to pay a hefty price for the dessert. One serving will sell for around $23.
