A Jets fan who sued the New England Patriots on behalf of other fans has lost his case, says Reuters. The case concerned the “spygate” scandal in which the Patriots were caught videotaping the signals from the Jets’ sideline. The fan was seeking “damages of $61.6 million representing the cost of tickets for Jets-Patriots games at Giants Stadium from 2000 through 2007, covering Belichick’s tenure as coach, and wanted that sum tripled under federal racketeering laws.” [More]

According to a new report by the trade group International Air Transport Association, 2009 comes in just behind 2006 as the safest year on record (kept since 1964), with an average of 1 accident for every 1.4 million flights on a Western-built jet. Brett Favre lead the NY Jets to victory over the Miami Dolphins Sunday, but if you’re in New Haven, CT you didn’t get to see it, thanks to an error by Comcast. The cable company accidentally broadcast the wrong game, but when fans called to have the mistake corrected, Comcast told them that their game was blacked out because they lived too close to Foxboro and the New England Patriots. That is, of course, a bunch of baloney.
