Happy Holidays

Half-day of posting today, and no posts tomorrow. Ben Popken is off for the rest of the week afterwards, with Carey Greenberg-Berger, and Chris Walters picking up the slack. From all of us at The Consumerist, Merry Christmas.

Gawker Tshirt Shop Liquidation Sale

Gawker Tshirt Shop Liquidation Sale

We’re liquidating the Gawker Tshirt Shop and all shirts are on sale for $17.99, down from $20 (yes, we know, Gawker is taking a cue from the CompUSA handbook. The liquidation company sets the prices! ::ducks). That means it’s your last chance to get The Consumerist “My Call Is important To You” before it becomes a valuable collector’s item and we post confessions from people who scalp it on eBay. A perfect gift for the consumer avenger in your life, even if that person is just you. Retailers will quake in fear when you stride up to the counter in this hot baby blue number. Printed on American Apparel so you’ll probably want to get one size larger than you normally do.

Updated Nested Comments Script Released

Updated Nested Comments Script Released

YogurtEart has released a new update to his awesome nested comments script. This is an optional Firefox + Greasemonkey add-on that makes it so comments that reply to one another appear below each other and indented. Personally, I find this makes following the various sub-conversations within a thread easier. Supports Firefox with GreaseMonkey and Opera with Opera UserJS. The new version fixes the problem of the commenter buttons getting smooshed next to each other within a nest.

Didn't Win BOBs

Oh, by the way, we didn’t win that Deutsche-Welle Best of The Blogs contest. We got third for our category. We probably could have finished stronger if I had done another post about voting for us, but I couldn’t get excited about trying to beat a blog that was all about helping people in the deaf activist community. Come on everybody, let’s beat the deaf people! Didn’t sit right. Plus, the voting site got hacked. Oh well, there’s always the Rhode Island blog awards… [The BOBS]

Happy Thanksgiving

7 Days Left To Vote For Consumerist In Best Of The Blogs

Sound the klaxons, there’s scant seven days left to vote for Consumerist as being one of the best blogs in the world. We’re up for Best Weblog – English. The contest is run by the industrious people of behind Deutsche-Welle, the BBC of Germany. Winners get fabulous prizes and even more important, bragging rights. We’re much too modest to actually use those rights, but it’s nice to have them in reserve. Vote here.

Our brother blog Gizmodo is in the running for Best Technology Blog in the 2007 Weblog Awards, neck and neck with Engadget. Do you really want an AOL-owned blog to win? Gizmodo breaks all sorts of cool technology news hot and fast and is always a fun read. We know you like clicking buttons so go over here and click the one next to Gizmodo. Apparently if you don’t they won’t let these kittens out of their cups. Voting ends today.

Take Our Survey, Get Chance To Win $100 Amazon Gift Certificate

We’d like to know more about Consumerist readers, and we need your help with this brief 4 question survey. We want to know is you age, gender, income, and educational level. Providing email and name are optional, but doing so ensures entrance in a random drawing for a $100 Amazon.com gift certificate. All of your information will be kept strictly private with data only distributed in anonymous aggregated form, and you won’t receive any email or sales pitches by participating; except for the winner of the drawing who will, of course, receive an email notification and an Amazon gift certificate. The survey takes less than 2 minutes. If you have any questions, please email surveys AT gawker.com. Take survey here.
