USPS Is Not Encouraging You To Buy Christmas Stamps In June
Maybe it was a terrible mixup or an employee prank. We’ll probably never know why a poster advertising Christmas stamps suddenly appeared in the window at reader Chris’s local post office in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, but we’re kind of relieved to know that it was not part of a massive Christmas Creep marketing push.
We contacted the US Postal Service, and received a rather horrified response. The stamps shown in that poster, it turns out, were marketed for Christmas 2013. You can see them in this press release from last year…a press release from December, not June.
The USPS representative said that they would have someone at the post office nab the poster and take it down.
