Fuzzy Math At The Amusement Park And The Grocery Store
Look, Six Flags, it’s summer vacation. We’re here to eat terrible food and be hurled around at high speeds on rides. We’re not here to do math, and we’re really not here to figure out why your “family meal deal” for 4 costs a few cents more than four chicken dinners purchased separately.
Meanwhile, over at supermarket Acme, reader Kelly reports that shelf tags have customers so baffled that they’re just standing around in the aisles. “There were three of us standing there trying to figure [this iced tea pricing] out.”
It could be that the store was permanently lowering the price from $1.59 to $1, or they revised the whole sign for each item while the sale is on. Or, our preferred solution: it just doesn’t make any sense.
