Mom Sues RadioShack Because 13-Year-Old Daughter’s “New” Phone Shouldn’t Be Full Of Porn

When buying a refurbished phone, it’s at least slightly understandable that some of the previous owner’s data or photos could be left behind. But when a phone is sold as “new” and instead allegedly is filled with porn and ends up in the hands of a 13-year-old girl, well, that’s a big problem. We’re looking at you, RadioShack.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution says a Georgia mother was under the impression that the phones she was buying for herself and her teen daughter were brand new cell phones. She claims in a civil lawsuit filed against RadioShack that instead, the phones were chockfull of pornographic images.

“They were clearly not new phones,” the woman’s attorney told the paper. In the lawsuit, the family says the girl had to go through weeks of counseling after viewing the graphic pictures. They’re seeking unspecified damages.

RadioShack apparently agreed to switch the phones out, but the mother says that just doesn’t cut it, after what her daughter went through. She can never unsee what has been seen, after all.
