Just think of  those times you actually had to stop and buy hot coffee to later spill all over your lap in the car. That’s the worst, which is why Fiat is introducing espresso makers in its 500L model, so you can make your own hot beverage in the comfort of your vehicle, to then precariously balance while driving. Brings new meaning to the idea of a to-go coffee.

Fiat presented the car to the global press saying that it will be “the first standard-production car in the world to offer a true espresso coffee machine.”

The cars go on sale in Italy in October and the rest of Europe shortly after that, says USA Today. And lest you think such a machine would stand out against more normal things like seat belts and steering wheels, Fiat assures potential buyers that the device “is perfectly integrated in the car with a deck designed expressly by Fiat.” The Lavazza coffee importers will make the machines, along with matching cups.

Well, staying awake on the road will be easier with the caffeine boost — and the imminent threat of a lap full of scorching liquid.
