Sorry You Can't Vote: You're Dead

A bureaucratic mixup led to a very confusing Super Tuesday for one Boston-area woman. The 84-year-old showed up to vote in Tuesday’s primary election, only to be told that she couldn’t vote: she was dead.

“First thing I read [in the newspaper] is the obituaries. And I didn’t even find my name on the obituary page!” she told CBS Boston news, laughing. Officials figured out the problem: a mistake in the newest Fall River city census put the woman on the “deceased” list, but she was still a registered voter. They restored her to life and allowed her to vote.
